Our specialists help schools, academies and colleges secure available funding via the relevant government schemes.
Condition Improvement Fund
The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) is an annual fund provided by the ESFA which provides an opportunity for schools, academies and colleges to apply for capital funding to improve the condition of their estate.
The priority for the fund is to address significant condition need, keeping education provider buildings safe and in good working order.
CIF also supports a small number of expansion projects for academies, colleges and VA schools rated good or outstanding by Ofsted that can demonstrate a need to expand.
CIF funding is not guaranteed and must be applied for, any funds awarded must be spent on the specific items detailed in the application.
School Condition Allocation
The School Condition Allocation (SCA) is an annual fund given to eligible bodies who are responsible for maintenance of school buildings.
Multi-academy trusts and VA bodies must have 5 or more open schools at the start of September 2020 and must have at least 3,000 pupils counted in the Spring of 2022 census.
SCA funding is an annual guaranteed source of income (released every May) for your multi-academy trust (MAT), it is not dependant on an application process and the funding can be spent on any maintenance issue that arises however it must be spent within two years.
